Evangelist Ivory J. Thompkins

Supervisor of Women’s Ministry

Evangelist Ivory Thompkins serves at Theist Temple Church as Supervisor of Women’s Ministry. She is a Licensed Evangelist who loves doing what God has called her to, namely, loving God’s people through the life God has given her.

She is a native of New York with family roots and heritage in North Carolina. After relocating to Norristown in her young adult years, she embraced the area as her hometown. “Evangelist Ivory,” as she is affectionally called, has been a member at Theist Temple COGIC for over 30 years. She has a compassion for evangelism. She thrives when there are opportunities in ministry where she can help nurture spiritual sisterhood. She also finds joy helping women to grow and mature in Christ as they are guided by the Holy Spirit in following holiness doctrines of the Church of God in Christ. Evangelist Ivory, furthermore, believes that the curriculums of the COGIC National Women’s Department build godly confidence in women. So, she has a passion for Bible Band and any fellowship that enables her to lead women in spiritual development. Evangelist Ivory avidly believes  that one’s spiritual strength and God’s prosperity is for the church, family, and community.

To keep herself encouraged, Evangelist Ivory often meditates on Galatians 6:9,

“And let us not be weary in well doing for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

To encourage others, she often reminds them, John 10:10, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, kill, and destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” Evangelist Ivory acknowledges as her personal testimony that she is “saved, sanctified, and filled by God’s Holy Spirit” and finds her most joyous place in Jesus.
